Advertisment

In Nolybab we need no advertisement. We have created an ideal community where people that come are people that are looking for a community like ours.

Animal that represents our community

The Lynx live deep in the forest, they are rare and elusive. This intelligent and curious animal cares for their young intil they are ready to survive on their own. Here in Nolybab we seek to emulate certain aspects of the Lynx way of life.

A group of people that had been cutting and planting potato's took the day off and went to the beach. Some of us collected sea glass for the new trim that will be placed around community house ceiling. Other enjoyed their time surfing, playing soccer and swimming.

Itinerary

For those who work the land and those who work with crafts, the mornings usually start pretty early, six or seven o'clock or so. Although this is a small community we do eat on our own time, family meals are the usual. For those who teach and look after the youth of the community, their day usually will start around eight o'clock with a cooking lesson (making breakfast) after collecting eggs and looking after the chickens. Then moving on to environmental lessons which includes a wide range of issues; water consumption, farming techniques and hunting techniques. The work day usually ends around five o'clock where in the winter some travel into the backcoutry to ski and in the summer swimming at the beach is a regular.
There are community dinners that are not required which happens three or four times a mouth, usually most of the community will show up. The meal is somewhat of a celebration of sorts, music is involved and dancing is very much involved. Small gathering show up almost every night in the town center after the days work is over and will stay late into the night playing music, dancing, playing soccer and other sports.
Today in the wood mill we finished cutting the boards that will eventually become seat chairs for the school house. This wood was cut last season and replanting begun just a few days after.

Journal entry from the wood working shop

Today we replaced all the chairs in the secondary school house. We started by making all the legs to the chairs first and finished them around noon. Twenty new chairs were assembled by the end of the day and set out for half a days work to sand and stain them. The wood we recieved from the mill house was cured and properly cut to start work immediately, this years wood supply is better than ever due to well planed cutting and restoration.
